After being released from a Nazi prison in the spring of 1942, a group of Polish soldiers traded some of their rations to an Iranian shepherd boy in exchange for his pet, a Syrian brown bear cub. The newly christened Wojtek became the mascot of Poland’s 22nd General Transport Company and considered himself to be just one of the boys. Tune in to learn more about his incredible rise from ursine orphan to decorated Army officer!
